The Network of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) shows the variety of cultural expressions that communities, groups or individuals themselves recognize as intangible cultural heritage. Description

The horse market is held in Ameide on the second Thursday of October. There is no more trade, but horse and pony inspections in different categories, a lottery, a commodity market, a small funfair, ring stitches and a horse show program that concludes with a 'grande finale'. 

Practitioners and other parties involved are the board and volunteers of the Stichting Paardenmarkt Ameide, such as visitors, sponsors, lovers of horses and sports, market people and operators of the fair, jury members, ring masters, participants in the inspections and competitions and the residents of Ameide. 

The horse and beast market has been held in Ameide since 1657. The horse trade declined at the beginning of the twentieth century and inspections were replaced in the 1970s. In addition to the market, over time there have been more or less side activities such as a fair and a commodity market.
